Terms of Service

By accessing or using Autobids ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts under Zimbabwean law. By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements.

2. Account registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

3. Buying & bidding

• A bid placed is a binding commitment to purchase at that price if you win.
• A refundable deposit is required before bidding. The deposit is forfeited if you win and fail to complete payment within the specified deadline.
• Proxy bids are placed automatically on your behalf up to your maximum amount.
• We are not responsible for technical failures that prevent bids from being placed.

4. Selling

• All listings must be accurate and not misleading. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of vehicle information.
• A commission of 3.5% of the final sale price is charged on successful sales.
• Vehicles must be available and in the described condition at the time of sale.
• Listings that violate our policies may be removed without notice.

5. Payments & escrow

Payments are held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt of the vehicle or after the release period expires. We are not a bank and do not offer financial services. Landed cost estimates are indicative only and do not constitute financial advice.

6. Imports & duty

Import duty estimates provided by our calculator are indicative only. Actual duties are determined by ZIMRA and may differ. We accept no liability for customs costs, delays or vehicle seizure.

7. Prohibited conduct

• Listing stolen, encumbered or fraudulent vehicles.
• Shill bidding or bid manipulation.
• Circumventing platform fees by transacting off-platform.
• Misrepresenting vehicle condition, history or ownership.

8. Limitation of liability

The Platform is provided "as is". We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the preceding 3 months.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Zimbabwean courts.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
